2016’s Delicious in Dungeon, Volume 3 is the third tankōbon that collects Ryoko Kui’s secondary-world comic ecological fantasy manga. Originally published as Danjon Meshi, Delicious in Dungeon appears in Enterbrain’s Harta magazine. Volume 3 was translated into English in 2017.

When last seen, human fighter Laios and his allies (halfling lock expert Chilchuck, half-elf mage Marcille, and dwarven warrior gourmand Shenshi) were racing deep into the dungeon, hoping to reach Laios’ sister Falin before the dragon that ate her fully digests her remains. The entirety of this volume is spent doing the same. It’s a very deep dungeon.

2015’s Delicious in Dungeon, Vol. 2 is the second tankōbon of Ryoko Kui’s secondary-universe fantasy comedy manga. Originally published as Danjon Meshi, Delicious in Dungeon appears in Enterbrain’s Harta magazine. Volume 2 was translated into English in 2017. 

Falin has been eaten by a red dragon — but she can be resurrected if her remains are retrieved before they are digested¹. Falin’s brother Laios and his allies Chilchuck and Marcille have headed back into the dungeon to recover the remains. They didn’t wait to properly resupply, which would seem to be suicidal overconfidence. It’s not, because the party includes a new recruit: Senshi, who is a chef. He can butcher and cook defeated monsters.

Ryōko Kui’s Delicious in Dungeon (Japanese: ダンジョン飯, Hepburn: Danjon Meshi) is a Japanese fantasy comedy manga series. The series is published in Enterbrain’s Harta magazine. 2015’s Volume One collects the first seven chapters.

Laios’ tired and hungry crew of dungeon-delving adventurers make the mistake of challenging a red dragon living deep in the catacombs of a vast underground complex. Laios’ sister Falin manages to teleport most of the party to safety, at the cost of her own life.

All is not lost. If Laios and his allies can make their way back to where they confronted the dragon and defeat the dragon before it has finished digesting Falin, she can be resurrected. 

There are one or two minor complications.
